Currently we are reading this book called Prayer by Philip Yancey. I am pretty sure you can get the
gist of what the book is about by the name. Basically it is about digging deeper into prayer. Finding out more
things about it. Getting closer to God in it and understanding it better.

One of our activities that we are assigned is doing a prayer vigil. We are doing that today from 9am to 9pm.
Each of us have signed up for two 30 minute slots through out the day.

During this vigil we will be praying for things such as

  • team unity over the last four weeks this semester
  • other FYM teams (Africa, Dominican Republic and Mexico)
  • our areas of ministry (the Broughton team and the Blackley team)

But most importantly we are praying for a church in the area called St. James. Today St. James is having a
meeting discussing the future of the church.

Today, as we are praying, I encourage you to take 10 or 15 minutes out of your day and pray
for these things as well. We are not in this alone. Even if you will never come to England
on a missions trip or anything, as believers, we are all in this together.
We need to be lifting each other up in prayer.

Pray at all times (on every
occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer
and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and
perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's
consecrated people).

Ephesians 6:18 (AMP)

Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (AMP)
