My personal belief is that we, as American's, have this amazing picture of what we think England is like. I believe that when we think of England, we see Queen Elizabeth II, we see Buckingham Palace, Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry. We see London life, or our image of it, a beautiful countryside. We picture red, double decker buses, the palace guards and trying to make them laugh. We have so many different ideas and pictures of England. But I am here to say that it is completly different than that!
I knew coming into this that it was not going to be easy. I knew that it was going to be dark, spiritually that is. I knew that it will take a toll on me. Just seeing a country that used to be so spiritual. Loved Jesus, wanted to spread His word. Was full of life and revival. But I had no idea it would hit home this much.
Churches, closing down. People not wanting to change anything so they will leave or see them die. People just closing the doors and locking themselves in.And if that is not sad enough...you want to know what the really sad part for me is... That is the same path America is on. In 50 years, if not less, we will be in the same boat with England!
I know it is something that is hard to believe, but it's the truth. People are already leaving our churches. People are looking for someway to feel loved and we are not the ones showing them that. Other religons are. Religons that will not, in the end, bring them joy, bring them happiness, bring them love. And all because we think God is going to do "mighty things!" In reality, He isn't. Not unless we as Christians step up and help. Sure God can do anything, but He designed us as His tools. So He can do things through us!
We cannot just sit around anymore. We have to do something. If you want to see America's future, come to England. Because we are on the same path as they are just a few steps behind.
